Hope Church’s Support Structure pt.2

here-to-help

My last post was an update on some time I spent with one of my coaches and overseers, Matt Keller. It seems that many of you appreciated that communication, so let me give you part 2.

Here’s more on Hope Church’s support structure…

This week I received official confirmation of our “full membership” with the Acts 29 Network of churches. Acts 29 is a network of churches whose focus is on solid theology and the contextualization of the gospel. We’re very excited and honored to be in full membership with this gospel centered, missional movement of church planting churches.

Matt Adair
Matt Adair

Matt Adair, lead pastor of Christ Community Church in Watkinsville, GA is one of my A29 coaches; Matt is an incredible friend and mentor who connects with me regularly, stretches me theologically, encourages & challenges me personally, and prays for me and my family daily. I’m honored to have Matt’s friendship and support. He serves as one of my overseers, and as a member of Hope Church’s board of directors. Matt also informed me that CCC will be supporting Hope Church financially through their missions giving.

Other great news this week…

Last month I completed West Ridge Church‘s School of Church Planting. On this past Tuesday, I received a message from Jim Akins, pastor of Church Planting at West Ridge Church in Dallas, GA. Jim informed me that WRC has finalized their budget, and that Hope Church will receive 24 months of financial support from West Ridge Church. Huge thanks to Brian Bloye, lead pastor of WRC, and to Jim Akins, who heads up their church planting efforts!

Jim Akins has been deeply involved in many aspects of the organizational development of Hope Church. He’s deeply committed to the growth, health, and success of our new church plant, and to the advancement of the gospel through Hope Church in Henry County. Jim is a great friend and mentor; he serves as one of my overseers, and as a member of Hope Church’s board of directors.

Our Overseers:

  • Matt Adair, lead pastor of Christ Community Church, Watkinsville GA
  • Jim Akins, pastor of Church Planting at West Ridge Church, Dallas GA
  • Matt Keller, lead pastor of Next Level Church, Fort Myers FL
OUR NETWORKS:
  1. The Association of Related Churches (ARC)
  2. The Acts 29 Network of Churches
  3. A church plant of West Ridge Church

We’re also in the process of partnering with a few other like-minded organizations and churches… Folks who believe that the Church is empowered with the living presence of Jesus to become His hands and His feet… Organizations like the Developing Churches Network, who believe that by working together we can multiply churches and multiply impact!

According to researcher David Olson, over 4,000 churches close their doors every year, compared to just over 1,000 new church plants. The problem is not based on style or substance; it’s not about leadership development or organizational structures, although those things often contribute.

I believe the systematic problem we have yet to identify as a major problem within the church is the lack (or loss) of a spirit of partnership and collaboration. (credit)

Here at Hope Church, we believe in partnerships. We believe together we can accomplish more. We believe, like DCN, that by working together, we can multiply the impact of gospel transformation through our churches, and throughout the world!

I am SO honored and excited to be a part of Hope Church’s launch team! I can’t wait to see what God is going to do in South Metro Atlanta with this church/leadership that is so biblically structured and humbly submitted to His plan! I know there are many great churches out there… but MANY MORE like this are needed to reach the masses for Christ! Thank you Jesus for Hope Church!
