#1 Question I Get Asked!

ch1

These are very exciting times for us at Hope Church of McDonough! It seems that almost every single day we’re seeing God do extraordinary things in our midst! We’re constantly hearing stories of life-change, while more and more people are joining our launch team and adding their creative pieces to this movement of Hope!

As we continue to connect with people and as our team continues to grow, I’m often asked lots of questions about the new church we’re launching in Henry County. Questions ranging from how do we plan to maintain our culture of authentic relationships as we continue to grow larger and larger as a church, to what’s our church’s position on receiving people who are openly gay or lesbian, to our position on whether people who are “shacking” before marriage can serve in leadership. (Great questions, and yes, I answer ‘em all!)

But the number one question I get asked is, “Where is the church going to be located?”

First of all, I always emphasize to people that Hope Church of McDonouh is not defined by a building… Our assignment is not only God-given, but it’s also God-SIZED!!! I constantly remind people that we’re not called to build a building; we’re called to reach people who are far from God and to lead them into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ! That’s our mission — Loving God! Loving People! Sharing Hope!

And so, our launch team gatherings have taken place in different host homes of launch team members, from house to house, with a huge focus on building authentic community. But even with this in mind, we still recongize the huge imporance of securing the right venue for our wekend worship services once Hope Church of McDonough launches.

So here’s the answer to the number one question I’ve been asked… In addition to recruiting, developing our launch team, and raising funds for our launch, I have also been checking out every building/venue option throughout all of the McDonough/Stockbridge area, searching for that perfect spot…and it looks like we’ve found it!

With 123 days left before we launch, here’s what we can now say…

Thanks to God’s guidance & favor, and thanks to your generosity, I will be paying the deposit and signing the lease on our new facility tomorrow morning!!!

Where is it, you ask? I’ll make that huge announcement tomorrow afternoon as soon as the deal is done!!! Stay tuned!!!
